As the vibrant heart of Fonthill gears up for another unforgettable Pelham Summerfest, Kame & Kettle Beer Works is excited to announce a unique collaboration that perfectly embodies the spirit of the festival. This year, the local brewery has crafted a special edition beer to celebrate the annual event, further cementing its role as a cornerstone of the community.
Pelham Summerfest, a beloved four-day celebration, takes place over the third weekend of July each year. It started in 2011 as a single-day event to celebrate the completion of Downtown Streetscaping in Fonthill and to promote a pedestrian-friendly town center. Since then, it has blossomed into a four-day festival filled with music, entertainment, delicious food, and now, a specially crafted beer from Kame & Kettle Beer Works.
A Brew that Captures the Essence of Summerfest
The special edition beer label, designed with artistic flair by Todd Barber’s daughter, Madison Barber, features four captivating images. Each image depicts a woman in different attire, representing each themed day of the festival. The label also includes a special poem written by Madison, encapsulating the essence of the event:
*We brought the Chill to the Hill
From which we share a name
A light crisp beverage
That is refreshingly tame
The perfect summer drink
Whatever your aim
Be it in the park, the street
At the bar, or at the game
When summer comes along
It’s spent on the Kame.*

About Kame & Kettle Beer Works
Founded in 2015 by long-time friends Todd Barber and Dave Beifuss, Kame & Kettle Beer Works is a beloved staple in Fonthill, Ontario. The brewery’s name pays homage to the local topography, featuring the Fonthill Kame. In nature, kames are often associated with kettles, and since Fonthill lacks a glacially formed kettle, the brewery’s beer kettle completes this natural partnership.
Starting with a modest 50L brewhouse and fermenting with wine demijohns, Kame & Kettle’s brewing process is truly small batch and handmade. The taproom, carved out of the lower level of a downtown Fonthill building, has been expanding ever since. Committed to supporting the local economy, they source ingredients and conduct commerce locally whenever possible.
Their meticulous attention to process and use of fine ingredients have allowed them to experiment with over 100 different beer styles to date. On tap, you’ll find a selection of tasty ales, usually 8 or more, mirrored by their retail fridge offerings of freshly canned 473ml tallboys. As the community’s brewery, they strive to represent Fonthill with pride, brewing small batches often, ensuring fresh, tasty beers for everyone to enjoy.
