The 2025 Niagara Region High School Curling Showcase Bonspiel will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the St. Catharines Curling Centre.
The event features 32 (16 boys and 16 girls) of the best local curlers in the Niagara Region from 15 high schools and is sponsored by Niagara College Athletics and the St. Catharines Curling Centre.
“A component of the Niagara College Knights Curling program mission is to promote high school curling in the Niagara Region. We want to be part of the initiatives to grow the game locally, by providing local curlers more opportunities to play competitively and increase the profile of our OCAA (Ontario Colleges Athletic Association) Niagara College Knights Curling program (competitive men, women and mixed double teams),” a press release read.
The curling showcase event was the idea of Niagara College curling assistant coach/recruitment Rino Berardi, who thought of the idea to replicate the High School Soccer Showcase, which has proven to be a huge success in highlighting local high school soccer players.
