The Fenwick Migrant Worker Hub officially opened its doors for the 2025 season this week, welcoming migrant farmworkers to a safe and supportive space at the Lincoln Pelham Public Library – Maple Acre Branch.
The opening afternoon saw the arrival of workers along with Father Peter from the Migrant Farmworkers Project. Staff and volunteers were on-site to provide assistance and extend a warm welcome to all who visited.
The Hub offers a vital service to the migrant worker community, providing access to health and legal resources, opportunities to socialize, and a delicious, nutritious meal. It aims to foster a sense of community and care for the individuals who play an essential role in Niagara’s agricultural sector.
This seasonal initiative is made possible through the collaborative efforts of several community organizations, including Bridges Niagara Immigrant and Refugee Services, Positive Living Niagara, Niagara Community Legal Clinic/Clinique juridique communautaire de Niagara, Quest Community Health Centre, Lincoln Pelham Public Library, and the Migrant Farmworkers Project.
Organizers also expressed gratitude to TNO – The Neighbourhood Organization for its ongoing partnership and support.
The Fenwick Hub will continue to operate throughout the season, serving as a welcoming resource for the region’s migrant worker community.
