Mentorship Through Movement has been designed for young women who are struggling to deal with the pressures and challenges of today.
Throughout the four-week program, I introduce movement through exercise, mindfulness, and deep breathing. We also work on coping skills, positive self and body image along with aiming to increase self-efficacy and confidence through activities.
We have 1 in person session per week and daily check-ins through a closed on line platform. The check-ins also serve as video journaling and where we practice many of the activities that are taught.
Program Cost: $150.00
About SCHILD FITNESS
Schild Fitness began in 2017 with a specifically designed program offering gender-based violence and abuse survivors, including but not limited to human trafficking and domestic abuse survivors, 16 years of age and older one-to-one personal training and nutritional coaching supports. It was developed to help increase their sense of empowerment and hope as well as a sense of self-accomplishment. Clients were referred though participating shelters and counsellors in the Niagara Region.
As time progressed Schild Fitness has evolved into offering programs that gently introduce movement and exercise to women who are experiencing emotional and psychological barriers to reaching their goals. Barriers could range from anxiety to getting started or lack of confidence to more serious conditions like depression and PTSD.
The programs are not based solely on sets and reps. Through emotional support and mentorship, Schild Fitness provides a supportive and safe environment that promotes movement, breathing and mindfulness techniques to their clients. All plans are individualized and based on where the client’s needs and goals. Flexible and tailored programs are developed in partnership with the client. Understanding that many challenges can occur the plan ebbs and flows with what is happening currently in their lives.
The benefits of this program will support short and long-term positive impacts for the participants, which include:
Improved physical health
Reduced stress
Improved self-confidence
Alleviated anxiety
Increased cognitive ability
Developed long-term health strategy
Decreased depression
This program provides women and girls who find themselves emotionally and psychologically fatigued due to life situations the opportunity to further strengthen their individual goals of positive change. By removing barriers to physical activity participation, individuals can gain more opportunities to achieve positive health outcomes and lead healthy lives.
