Youth and seniors from Faith Welland Outreach’s community programs joined forces to make activity kits for students at Pathstone Mental Health. The bags, which included colouring pages, paint sets, and notes of encouragement, will be handed out by Pathstone during Canada’s Mental Health Week, which runs May 1st to May 7th.
“We continue to be gratefully surprised by the generosity of our community”, said Kim Rossi, Director of Fundraising & Communications at Pathstone Foundation. “Faith Welland’s reach out to us around creating activity kits for the kids we are supporting will give ease and comfort to so many kids”.
The bags were packed as part of an intergenerational event held by Faith Welland Outreach on April 25th. The event, which included a pizza dinner and bingo, had over 25 seniors and 8 high-school students from Welland in attendance.
“I am so proud of our high-school students”, said Rylan Johnson, Child & Youth Outreach Coordinator for Faith Welland Outreach. “I know many of our students access Pathstone’s services, so this was an excellent opportunity for them to also give back”.
