This program offers an in depth look at the night sky, including everything from beautiful northern lights and shooting stars, to the intense activity of thunderstorms — see not only incredible displays of lightning but also the developing structure and movement of the clouds above. Enjoy time lapses of shooting stars and see the only waterspout caught over Lake Erie at night plus more in one exciting presentation demonstrating the beauty and the Magic of the Night Sky. A Naloxone (Narcan®) training session will be held on Wednesday, November 10 at 6pm. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist that can quickly reverse an opioid overdose. This session will be led by a StreetWorks Outreach Worker. Registration is required.

Join Kathleen Powell for “The outbreak of the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918”. The Flu came at a time of great upheaval as the world was in the throes of the last year of the First World War and immense social change. This lecture will provide an in depth look at the Spanish Flu and how it impacted St. Catharines and its citizens. Kathleen Powell is the Supervisor of Historical Services and Curator for the City of St. Catharines overseeing the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre, the Morningstar Mill and the Lakeside Park Carousel.
