The YMCA of Niagara is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Wulff as the Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Allie Hughes, Chair of the Board of the YMCA of Niagara, made this announcement today, expressing enthusiasm for the organization’s future under Christian’s leadership.

Christian Wulff, who has been serving as the interim CEO throughout 2023, has already demonstrated his dedication to the YMCA of Niagara and the Niagara Region. His deep-rooted history with the YMCA, combined with his experience in leadership roles in both nonprofit and private sectors, positions him as a strong advocate for the organization’s mission.

Christian previously served as the YMCA of Niagara’s Vice President of Operations and held a Management role for a large leisure organization in Southern New South Wales, Australia. His tenure with the YMCA in Alberta included successful leadership in membership growth initiatives and management of a Health, Fitness, and Aquatics facility in one of Canada’s largest markets. The appointment of Christian Wulff follows a comprehensive four-month selection process, conducted in partnership with Y Canada. This process, initiated with a national internal posting, culminated in identifying the ideal candidate to lead the YMCA of Niagara. Christian’s alignment with the YMCA’s core values and his demonstrated leadership qualities have positioned the organization for an era of innovation and growth.

Currently operating from 118 sites across Niagara, the YMCA impacts the health and well-being of over 80,000 individuals from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and stages of life. Its services encompass Health & Fitness, Community Initiatives, Child Care, Day Camp, and Employment & Immigrant Services, all supported by the dedication of 800 volunteers annually.
