For the month of June, Pet Valu Welland is “Giving Back” by raising funds and collecting pet food to support Dreamers Dog Sanctuary in Fenwick. Dreamers, which specializes in finding homes for dogs from Northern Ontario, is experiencing challenges as many of its fundraising events were cancelled because of COVID-19.

“Despite the shortfall in donations, Dreamers continues to bring in dogs that need help. Next week they are expecting four new dogs and 12 puppies,” says Brigit Cardin, franchise partner, Pet Valu Welland. “We are very excited to be able to give them some much needed support this month.”

For the month of June, Pet Valu is running Giving Back Month. Thanks to the support of Pet Valu’s vendor partners, each time a customer purchases select cat and dog food, treats and flea and tick protection $1 from the purchase of each qualifying product will be donated to Dreamers. Customers are also invited to donate pet food or make a cash donation in the store.

“Dreamers does such a great job finding loving forever homes for northern dogs who need a second chance,” says Cardin. “It’s very rewarding to see the support we are already receiving from our customers.”
