Habitat for Humanity’s ReStores play an integral part in Habitat’s mission, bringing financial support for their work, and when businesses closed down during the first wave of the pandemic the charity wasn’t generating funds toward its home building program.
“We recognized that many retailers remained open during the spring lockdown for online purchases and curbside pick-up, so we began to put in place online shopping for our ReStores,” explains Jodi Krah, Fonthill ReStore Manager. “Our ReStores are a social enterprise, where sales generated from purchases help fund home building projects for local families in need of a safe and affordable place to live so it was vital that we started up our online stores.”
Habitat Niagara’s ReStores are home improvement stores which sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, kitchens, appliances, building materials, antique and vintage items, and much more for a fraction of retail prices plus you’ll never pay HST. The Niagara ReStores are proudly owned and operated by Habitat for Humanity Niagara. Donations and purchases help homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build better lives for themselves and their families.
Each of the Niagara ReStores (Fonthill, Grimsby and St. Catharines) has its own online store and offer a selection of items for purchase where you can shop all three ReStores 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the comfort of your home. Shop local. Shop the ReStore, the store that builds homes.
