The Welland McMaster Family Health Team (WMFHT) is a not-for-profit organization that provides quality interdisciplinary health care services for approximately 18,000 patients covering the communities of Welland, Pelham/Fonthill, and surrounding areas since 2011. We also partner with Niagara EMS, Public Health and Welland Hope Center to offer services to our communities.
The WMFHT Board of Directors provides strategic organizational leadership, vision, and maintains high ethical standards.
The Welland McMaster Family Health Team (WMFHT) seeks community members for its volunteer Physician/Community led Board of Directors. In particular, we are looking for people who meet one or more of the following necessary to accomplish our mission and to ensure effective governance of the organization:
- community relations;
- marketing;
- health care;
- legal;
- finance;
- quality assurance;
- organizational effectiveness.
The Board meets approximately six times throughout the year, for approximately 2 hours (afternoons). In addition, Board committees meet as needed. New members receive orientation to the work of the Family Health Team, the role of the board and governance policy.
This is a two-year volunteer appointment with the possibility of renewal for three additional two-year terms. There is no remuneration. This position is not open to WMFHT staff or their immediate families.
