Recently, Women’s Place Development Manager, Claire Ellsworth was excited to present a cheque for $500 to St. Catharines resident, Gordon Froese. Froese was the Early Bird prize winner in the first ever online 50/50 raffle hosted by Women’s Place and was eligible because he purchased his ticket before the June 1st Early Bird deadline.
“I bought the ticket because I like to support worthy local non-profits,” explained Froese. “The money is going to help with the renovation of my bathroom. Can you picture hexagon floor tile and white marble tile in the new shower?”
While the Early Bird deadline has passed, the main jackpot in Women’s Place’s first 50/50 raffle continues to grow and is currently over $7,000. “We encourage everyone to purchase tickets to help us reach our goal of a $10,000 jackpot,” explains Director of Development and Stewardship, Amanda Braet. “Not only will your ticket give you great odds of winning the cash jackpot, it will also support women and children seeking support when faced with the difficult issue of domestic abuse.”
Tickets are available at www.womensplace5050.ca until June 30 at 11:59 a.m.
