We are asking for your help to start producing home sewn fabric masks.
What do we need?
- We are looking for quilting cotton ( larger squares), tightly woven cotton, cotton/poly blends. Donations of old cotton or cotton/poly sheets or clean pillow cases would work. Tightly woven tea towels could help if they are not stained. Apparently men’s dress shirts are often good options.
- We are looking for 1/8 inch elastic or 1/4 inch twill cotton ribbon.
- We also invite any members or their family to participate in this project.
Ann H has contacted “Sewing Army” in Niagara Falls for advice and Allison Kares from Movement Unlimited who is putting sewing mask kits together. Our committee believes that there is going to be an exponential need for these masks in the weeks to come. We all know that the medical masks should be dedicated to our health care workers.
If you have fabric or would like to participate let us know and we will put a group together.
Yours In Rotary,
Mel, Ann, Annie and Angela
