Fonthill Rotary Supports Niagara Rotaract Food4Kids Food-drive/Fundraiser

SKATING EVENT POSTPONED Until Further Notice. Due to Ontario government measures announced on Jan 3rd planning for this free skate event is being postponed until further notice. We hope to reschedule the Skate for some time in the near future and are coordinating with the Town of Pelham. The Food4Kids food drive and fundraising efforts will continue.

FOOD DROP-OFF

Due to the postponement of the Family Skate Event at the Meridian Community Centre, this special food dropoff has been arranged for members of the community to drop of food items.

Location: Kwikfit Niagara, 10 Hwy 20 E, Fonthill, ON L0S 1E0

Time: January 9th, 2022: Noon to 3pm

You will not have to leave your vehicle. A Club volunteer will be there to receive items for delivery to Food4Kids Niagara.

All COVID Protocols will be in place for a safe CONTACTLESS drop-off of donated goods.

Fonthill Rotary Supports Niagara Rotaract Food4Kids Food-drive/Fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Fonthill and the Niagara Rotaract Club are very excited to initiate a food and fundraising drive in support of Food4Kids Niagara. Food4Kids Niagara provides packages of healthy food for children up to 14 years with limited or no access to food each weekend. Currently they are meeting the needs of 450 children in 27 schools throughout the Niagara Region, with many more schools on the waiting list.

Monetary Donations

While the monetary drive will also commence on December 27th, it will have a longer duration and is tentatively intended to conclude on March 31st.

The Niagara Rotaract Club, a group of young professionals is leading the work for the monetary donations. They are looking to use some of the money donated to apply for a Rotary District Grant. In this way, money raised will be matched with up to $2,000 USD ($2500 CDN). Several other local Rotary Clubs are also participating in this leading to a potential for a total of $20,000 to be directed to Food4Kids Niagara.

All contributions are eligible for a tax receipt.
