The Town of Pelham is well known for its beautiful, and sometimes challenging, cycling routes. Many residents and visitors enjoy cycling in our community whether for recreation or to reach a destination such as school, parks or services. Cyclists share the road with motorists and other road users. There are a number of ways to help keep Pelham’s roads safer for all users.
Motorists, you must leave 1 metre distance when passing a cyclist. Think “pool noodle” distance, as most pool noodles are approximately 1 metre in length.
Cyclists, bike helmets are required by anyone under18 years of age and recommended for everyone. Equip your bike with a bell or horn, lights and reflective tape.
