The Niagara Community Foundation is proud to have partnered with Community Foundations of Canada and the Government of Canada to deliver more than $900,000 through the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) in Niagara.
Since launching in May 2020, the ECSF – administered by the Niagara Community Foundation – has granted a total of $918,380 to charities and qualified donees. These grants will support vulnerable populations impacted by COVID-19. A total of 40 projects were funded, supporting children, youth, seniors, vulnerable workers, those requiring special care and supports and marginalized populations.
This support included grants such as $36,000 for Project SHARE to modify their warehouse space, support for Community Care West Niagara to purchase much-needed protein foods and a grant to Crystal Ridge Community Centre to assist with their efforts to provide meals for the most vulnerable. A full list of grantees is attached to this release.
“Through the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF), our team of staff and Grant Reviewers moved incredibly quickly to ensure our $900,000 allotment reached those in need as effectively as possible,” says NCF Executive Director Bryan Rose. “We’re all cognizant of the hardship that COVID-19 has brought upon all members of our community. The vital funds from the ECSF will go a long way in making sure our charity partners throughout the entire region from Grimsby to Fort Erie and every municipality in between have the resources they need to continue to serve the citizens of the Niagara who have been hit the hardest by the pandemic.”
The Niagara Community Foundation has granted their full funding available for Niagara through the ECSF and is no longer accepting applications. If you would like to be notified should additional funds become available, please complete the following form.
