The Canadian Federation of University Women seeks opportunities to empower women who choose to participate in civic life. We want to assist them to achieve their goals, as we believe that equality is an important step in improving the status of women and children.
The Advocacy Committee of CFUW Welland and District wishes to congratulate all women candidates who have decided to run in the upcoming municipal elections. As a show of support we have launched a ‘Learn More about the Women Running’ Community Information Campaign.
The CFUW Welland and District is now in the process of sending requests for submissions to each woman candidate running in our district of Pelham, Port Colborne, Wainfleet and Welland to give them the opportunity to share a bit about who they are and what they stand for.
All submissions will be posted as provided by the candidates, unedited and unabridged on the CFUW Welland and District website with an anticipated publication date of Thursday October 13, 2022. An announcement will be posted on the CFUW Welland and District Facebook Page at the time of publication.
The campaign will also include an article on the myNiagaraOnline.com Community Platform to be distributed via the myWelland.com, (Thursday October 13, 2022); myPelham.com (Monday October 17, 2022) and myNiagara weekly (Wednesday October 91 2022) Newsletters and their associated social media channels.
