All food banks appreciate donations of non-perishable items, but what many families need most is fresh healthy fruit and vegetables. Our mission at Rumar Farm is to provide the best, nutritious organic food to our local community and that also includes those individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
A few years ago we created a corporate donation program where individuals or business can purchase a CSA share in the spring and each week a basket of our local harvest would be delivered to Pelham Cares for the full 18 week season. Along with our three corporate shares, we also add any CSA shares that were not picked up from our regular program as well as excess produce each week. The program has been a huge success and our partners at Pelham Cares are so grateful to offer their clients fresh organic produce.
We want to recognize and thank our sponsors of this year’s program, Ross MacFarlane and Sue Bernard. Rumar Farm donates an additional share each week.
