Fonthill Purse Bingo 2024 Raises Funds for Pathstone Mental Health Satellite Program and for Pelham Cares

The Accursi Room of the Meridian Community Centre (MCC) in Fonthill was the place to be in early November when a full house of participants and volunteers came together to support the Rotary Club of Fonthill’s annual Purse Bingo. Gathering to socialize, chat, and play some bingo, our community came together to support Fonthill Rotary. All the proceeds from the event flow directly from the Rotary Club to local charities. This year, the proceeds from the evening went to Pathstone Mental Health Satellite Program for youth, held at the MCC as well as to Pelham Cares. With outstanding support during the evening, the club will be able to present Pathstone with a cheque for $5,000 and Pelham Cares with a cheque for $4,600.

Purse Bingo coordinators Mel Groom, Ann Harrison and Annie Holtby wish to thank our purse sponsors and businesses without whom this event would not be possible. This year we thank Regional Councillor Diana Huson; Shelly Marr Mouck of Colliers International; Meridian Credit Union; Troy Killick of CIBC Private Wealth Wood Gundy; Darcy Richardson of Darcy Richardson Real Estate Group; and Frank Adamson of KwikFit; as well as three Proud Fonthill Rotarians and Friends of Rotary who have sponsored purses. Debbie Pine of Pinesold Realty was not only a purse sponsor but generously donated to our luxury gift basket. This basket, valued at just shy of $1,400, also contained gifts from the following – all local Fonthill businesses: Donna Butler of Donna’s Fashions; Troy Thompson of Butcher and Banker; Trina Moscato of Styles; Carol and Alexandra LaCivita of The Village Boutique; Vera Mckeown of Creations by V and Mossimo’s pizza gift basket. This luxury basket was topped off with a beautiful lady’s necklace and men’s watch donated by Tamara Steele of Sapphires Custom Jewellery.

Club members cannot thank our Pelham community and our purse bingo participants enough for making this event such a success each year. Your collective involvement ensures that much needed financial support flows directly into the Pelham community.
