Biography:

1. Steven Soos is a ​life-long resident of the Niagara Region and a resident of Pelham with deep family roots in the community.
2. Steven Soos holds a ​Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Development Studies ​(with courses in f​arming​, the world food system, urbanization and global political economy)
3. For the last five years Steven Soos has worked as a ​Support Worker supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and as a Child and Youth Worker supporting children/youth who are crown wards or children/youth on a protection order.
4. In 2015, Soos was selected to host a Radio Show called ​True Politics,​ which aired on 92.7fm. The show quickly took off, and has shifted to a​ very successful Niagara-based web-show (available on facebook, youtube, instagram, twitter)​ which educates Niagara-residents on local politics. ​The Right Honourable Kim Campbell, Canada’s 19th Prime Minister recently appeared on True Politics.
5. Soos cares deeply about ​mental health advocacy, ​as demonstrated in his work for the residents of Niagara Region, Soos is a former ​Niagara Mayoral Candidate.
6. Soos is a proud Indigenous person.
7. Soos would like to serve on Town Council as a fresh-face; unapologetically advocating for the ​seniors, families, and the youth​ of Pelham; and Pelham’s Ward 1.

A Proven Track Record:​ Over 6-years experience in municipal politics!!

1. Proposed a Partnership with Niagara Region and local-area educational institutions to deliver preventative education to our young people on the dangers of Opioids.
2. Called Niagara Region to declare a State of Emergency on Mental Health, Homelessness, and Addiction.
3. Organized and hosted Niagara-South’s first-ever Town Hall on Mental Health, Homelessness and Addictions during the last federal election.
