What can I expect during my first Chiropractic visit?
Your Doctor will ask you about the reason for your visit, as well as your health history. This may include asking you questions about illnesses, past surgeries, medications and other health issues. Upon completion of your history, your Doctor will conduct a physical examination to assess and diagnosis the problem. They will explain the findings of the assessment and recommend a treatment plan, ensuring your consent to treatment is informed and any questions you may have are answered. If chiropractic care is not the best approach for you, your Doctor will make a referral to another qualified health professional.
What is Chiropractic?
The word “chiropractic” comes from an ancient Greek word and means “done by hand.” Chiropractors are specialists in manual adjustment of the vertebrae of the spine and other joints. A Chiropractic adjustment can help relieve pain and restore normal functioning to the spine, joints and supporting structures of the body.
What is Contemporary Medical Acupuncture?
Contemporary Medical Acupuncture takes an ancient therapy and re-defines its mechanisms and effects using present-day scientific understanding of human physiology.
Acupuncture stimulates nerve receptors in skin and muscle. In response, the body unleashes a cascade of natural and therapeutic responses that cause an increase of local blood flow that encourages tissue healing. The effects of acupuncture accumulate when repeated.
Acupuncture can:
- Reduce pain locally where the needles are inserted and throughout the body.
- Enhance well-being and leave one feeling calm and relaxed.
- Inactivate myofascial trigger points.
The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture results in stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities, and by promoting physical and emotional well-being.
