The Lincoln Pelham Public Library is excited to announce the next #BooksOnTheBench author evening, featuring acclaimed author Amanda Peters. On September 27, under the tent at Fielding Estate Winery, Amanda will present her latest work, *Waiting for the Long Night Moon*, a compelling collection of short stories that delve into the Indigenous experience across different eras and places.
Amanda Peters, who is of Mi’kmaq and settler ancestry, gained widespread recognition with her debut novel, *The Berry Pickers*, which became a Canadian bestseller. Her new collection, *Waiting for the Long Night Moon*, continues to explore profound themes, including the impact of European settlers, the trauma of Indigenous child removal, and the modern struggle for clean water rights.
The event is not only a celebration of literature but also a vital fundraiser for the Lincoln Pelham Public Library. Tickets are priced at $45 and include a glass of wine and a blueberry-themed treat, with non-alcoholic options available. Additional beverages can be purchased at the event. A $20 tax receipt is included with each ticket purchase, and all proceeds will go toward enhancing the library’s collections, programs, and services.
