Members’ Interests Presentations
February 24 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
The annual PHS “Members’ Interests Presentations” allows members to share with the Society the results of a special research interest they may have been pursuing in the past year. This year there will be at least four presentations.
1. Mary Lamb will discuss Jacqueline (Jackie) Damato (1936-2022), who once lived in Fonthill and did editorial cartoons for the Pelham Herald. PHS has recently acquired a collection of her original cartoons. Mary will speak about Jackie and her legacy, illustrated with a selection of cartoons.
2. Robert Young will speak about the life of Calixa Lavallée and the origins of O Canada.
3. Carolyn Botari will introduce the John Hill diary that was found in the wall of the Bissell home on Metler Road.
4. Wendy Young will speak on the Family Connections in the Fonthill Church of God.
There may be one or two more speakers and topics.
