Lucky me! I won the draw for a $75 Gift Certificate to The Green Apple Coffee House on West Street in Port Colborne by participating in a recent Virtual Market hosted by the Port Colborne Downtown BIA on Instagram.I stopped by this week to redeem my prize and had a chance to chat with owner, Jesse Boles.
As my order of Oat Milk Latte, Iced Coffee with Vanilla and House Brewed Lemon & Mango Iced Tea was prepared we talked about how his Port Colborne location is one of four Niagara local business that he operates as President of Niagara Hospitality Development Group Inc. Other locations include: The Grounds Coffee House & Bakery (Thorold); The Green Apple Bakery + Catering (Wainfleet) and the soon to be opened Green Apple Coffee House (St. Paul St., St. Catharines).
Under the current COVID-19 operating conditions the green apple’s take out bar is a popular local destination with daily fresh baked goods for sale and croissant sandwich specials. We also discovered that bags of coffee beans and specialty packaged teas were available for purchase.
As Public Health restrictions ease Jesse looks forward to returning his founding focus of operating the green apple as a full service “Coffeehouse” – with his extensive and creative beverage menu at the forefront and enjoy eating in the dining area, relaxing and lingering over a full array of unique local food options.
Turns out we picked an extra special day to drop by – Jesse was giving away free cupcakes to all his customers this week in celebration of the green apple’s 2nd Anniversary. How #LocalAwesome!
