At the Rotary Club of Welland’s 6th Annual Curling Social, held at the Welland Curling Club on February 13, 2024, President Tammy Morden, along with Community Service Chair Peter Inman and Past President Vic Kerschl, presented a cheque to Marla Smith, Director of Development for the Niagara Children’s Centre.
The cheque, in the amount of $6,606.15, is the second installment of a 5-year commitment for the Centre’s satellite office at the YMCA in Welland. The donation is being used for the purchase of therapy supplies and equipment.
The Club is no stranger to supporting the Centre, being involved as a charter member in 1964, a contributor to the capital campaign expansion in 1996 and a regular supporter over the years. Niagara Children’s Centre helps children and youth “be their best.” It is the go-to resource, a one-stop organization, supporting more than 5,300 children and youth in Niagara every year. Whether it’s communicative, developmental, physical and/or behavioural goals, they have it covered.
President Tammy Morden stated it was a pleasure to continue our long-term relationship with the Niagara Children’s Centre.
