CFIB is undertaking new research to highlight how independent businesses positively impact their local communities.
They have developed a survey for independent retail businesses which will determine how much of each dollar spent with a small business stays local. CFIB is partnering with LOCO BC and Civic Economics on the research, who previously calculated that 63 cents of every dollar spent at independent businesses in BC stay local, compared to just 14 cents of every dollar spent at multinationals. CFIB is expanding this research across the country to produce national and regional numbers which will be used to develop new materials to promote shopping locally as part of their #SmallBusinessEveryDay
