Niagara Health Foundation is excited to announce the launch of its second community-wide 50/50 lottery. The Niagara Health Lottery launched on March 1 and will conclude on April 8. The Niagara Health Lottery participants will have a chance to win one (1) of five (5) $1,000 early-bird prizes as well as the grand prize that was guaranteed at $20,000. The Niagara Health Lottery prize has already grown over the guaranteed minimum. The progressive jackpot is increasing by the minute.
“We tripled our day one sales in this lottery,” said Chris Green, Director of Communications, Marketing & Community Engagement. “We expanded our marketing reach and are working with radio stations and newspapers in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland, Fort Erie and Port Colborne. We have some tremendous community media partners that help us spread our message, and it is making a difference.”
Tickets for the Niagara Health Lottery are 3 for $10, 40 for $20 and 200 for $50. The deadline for the early bird-draws of five (5) $1,000 prizes will be on March 18 at 11:59 pm, with the winners announced on March 19. The Lottery will continue until April 8 at 11:59pm, with the winner being announced on April 9. The Lottery will be open to all Niagara and Ontario residents. All proceeds from the Niagara Health Lottery will support urgently needed patient-care equipment like ultrasounds, endoscopy equipment and patient beds at Niagara Health.
The first community lottery that Niagara Health Foundation ran was met with tremendous support. The winner, Jackie Billard, was awarded the grand prize of $110,000. The Foundation expects the prize to be bigger at the end of its second Lottery.
“The Foundation received so many positive messages when we launched the first lottery. The support was tremendous and it was exciting to watch the prize pot grow by the hour. The prize we gave away ($110,000) was amazing to share with one lucky winner. After the first campaign, we decided that we will offer a 50/50
lottery three or four times a year. We can’t wait to see the results from this lottery.” said Andrea Scott, Interim President & CEO of the Niagara Health Foundation.
