Before you start throwing all your wrapping paper and bows away, take a minute and ensure you know what is and isn’t recyclable.
Wrapping paper is usually not recyclable due to sparkles and metallic decorations, but can be reused if in bigger sheets.
Ribbons and bows are great to set aside and reuse next year, unfortunately they also cannot be recycled.
Christmas trees, as long as they are real ones, can be left at the curb on special collection days to be recycled.
Artificial trees and decorations can be donated if gently used, otherwise they cannot be recycled.
When in doubt about what you can toss, the Niagara Region website is a great resource to double check. https://bit.ly/3ehndu7
