Here’s to you Uncle Ronnie…
Uncle Ronnie (Raw Knee) A man with a passion for food, family, friends and fun.
We’ll always remember Ron Levinski, longtime friend of M.T. Bellies and the Clark family, avid golfer, fierce competitor, sarcastic wise guy, and passionate foodie.
Ron was an extraordinary cook. He created our most popular made-in-house BBQ sauce way back in ‘93 before we opened the doors to Big Food Big Fun.
His special secret sauce was given to us only after we swore oaths to never release the recipe.
What we can tell you about the 15-ingredient slow cooking process of this delightful tangy tasty sauce is the magical rubbing of the herbs between the palms of your hands while simultaneously shouting “release!” while spell-bound basil bits drop into the master-batch pot of yumminess. While pouring in his final dark mystery liquid, he’d say “this pours as slow as molasses.” Every time.
Kathy, his loving wife, remembers, “I can’t recall the number of times he’d say to staff that he hadn’t met “do you know who I am?” then give them his spiel. Uncle Ronnie, Master Sauce Maker. A character, indeed.
It is a winner of a BBQ sauce. And so was Ronnie. We recently lost Uncle Ronnie in a battle he could not win. His spirit and legacy lives on with through his loving wife, son, daughter in law, grandkids and friends. And the award-winning MTB Uncle Raw Knee’s sauce.
From now until the end of July, we will donate $10 for every full rack ($5 for every half-rack) of Uncle Raw Knees Ribs to Ron’s charities of choice. We will divide the proceeds between the Walker Family Cancer Centre and Port Colborne/ Wainfleet Community Living.
Join us in celebrating Ron’s life, his friendship, his commitment to cooking, and all the memories he made for us at MTB.
Let’s raise as much as we can to show our love and respect for Ron, in this tribute with Uncle Raw Knee’s Ribs.
Thank you from the M.T. Bellies family!
