Saturday, April 22nd is our Earth Day Extravaganza at the market and there is so much do to:

>Free seed kits handed out by the Mayor’s Youth Advisory   Committee.  This year we have a ‘Honey Bee Mix’ and a ‘Butterfly Mix’ as part of the handouts.
>Eco-Friendly Market ‘Jute’ totes for sale for $5.
>’Use this, not that’ table with environmentally friendly products for you and your home.
>Free ‘Eco-Gifts’ for the kids
>Charity BBQ to raise money for the Scotiabank Pro Am Hockey Tournament for Alzheimer’s with picnic tables setup for eating
>Bring your family to plant colourful bulbs in one of our market planters from 9 to 11 to help welcome in Spring at the Market!
>Niagara Region onsite with all their recycling and composting containers.
>Biodiversity and Climate Action Niagara will be onsite with information about Niagara initiatives

We will also have special vendors selling handmade raised planters and Green Acres Greenhouses with flowers and plants.

So come out and celebrate the environment and your local farmers’ market vendors.  Remember, when you buy local you are making a positive environmental impact every time!
