On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, Welland will host a first-of-its-kind event that brings together the creative talents of two of Niagara’s most vibrant groups: The Welland Writer’s Guild and The Visual Artists of Welland. The event, Creative Artists Unite 2024, will take place in the Hart Court of Seaway Mall, starting at 12:00 noon. This is a free event, and the public is warmly invited to attend. Seating will be available for those wishing to immerse themselves in the stories and art on display.

This unique collaboration will feature 15 local writers and 15 talented visual artists, each pairing together to create an inspiring blend of storytelling and visual expression. Each writer will read a short, original piece of fiction, non-fiction, or poetry, followed by the unveiling of an art piece crafted by the artist in response to the writing.

The writers began working on their stories back in January, and the artists embarked on their creative journey in June, bringing months of thoughtful collaboration to life. This event is the culmination of their efforts, showcasing the rich creative energy flowing through the Niagara region.
