The City of Welland Heritage Advisory Committee is inviting the community to attend a special event celebrating local history. On Saturday, September 21st, at 1 p.m., there will be a plaquing ceremony for the Welland Canal Second Aqueduct, followed by the launch of the committee’s new booklet, “Places That Were.” This booklet highlights 40 Welland properties that no longer exist but remain an important part of the city’s collective memory through photos and stories.
The event will take place in the rear parking lot of Welland City Hall, with a book launch and reception to follow in the City Hall Community Room. Everyone is welcome to join in and celebrate Welland’s rich history!
