Welland City Council appointed an interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at last night’s council meeting. The city’s General Manager of Corporate Services, Chief Financial Officer, Steve Zorbas will fulfill the role until a permanent incumbent is assigned the position.
Steve Zorbas has more than 35 years of municipal experience working for the City of Mississauga, the City of Richmond Hill, and the City of Burlington. Mr. Zorbas has built a comprehensive career portfolio in a variety of leadership roles and brings extensive corporate experience with him to the position of Interim CAO.
“Steve has become one of our biggest assets, alongside a skilled team of leaders and visionaries,” said Mayor Frank Campion. “I have confidence that he will successfully lead municipal operations while advancing Council’s Strategic Priorities.”
