My career as a Professional Engineer began on the manufacturing side of business focusing on the importance of attention to detail and continuous improvement through teamwork, communication and understanding the requirements and expected results before making changes. Successfully applying this philosophy I moved up the ranks of management over the next 20 years to running several Fortune 500 manufacturing operations.
Realization came, through applications of financial planning and monitoring of the businesses that many principles in business could be applied to personal finance but were not generally known. Appreciating this and feeling there was a great need for personal financial planning in today’s complex financial world, I recognized that comprehensive financial planning was my passion and with the strong support of my wife and family made the decision to make this my full time career.
Ensuring my qualifications were of the highest level, for the benefit of my clients, I successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) 1 and 2 at Honors level, achieved the Dean’s List for Financial Planning, achieved Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and Life insurance license. I then began my Financial planning career with a Fund company. Deciding the best way to give unbiased financial advice was to be a part of an organization also setting higher standards composed only of financial professionals and not tied to any specific fund company I joined Desjardins Financial Security.
My business focus is development of long term strategies to improve the living standards of clients now and in retirement through innovative products and quality professional financial planning. I currently sit on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Fonthill and I am a member of the Canada Day Committee for Pelham and the Estate Planning Council of Niagara.
The success of my business is based upon a solid understanding of my clients goals both short and long term and developing a long term working relationship.I enjoy teaching the general public about Financial Planning matters and have conducted over 30 seminars throughout Southern Ontario. I also teach a Credit Course at Niagara College on Financial Planning.
