The Niagara Folk Arts Festival is continuing to bring the Arts to the Folks, in 2021, since you can’t get to us. We are looking for artists, culturally specific or not, to participate in facilitating cultural artist, artisan or heritage activities. We are looking to offer a wide selection of arts mediums. The arts project and/or the artists/facilitator should have a cultural focus.
Project and artists’ selection priority will be given to artists/projects that support ethnocultural heritage expression or facilitation, the compatibility of their offered project to be easily transferred to a remote, tutorial setting and is only open to Canadian residing artists/facilitators.
Your arts presentation will be family-friendly and should be able to be completed at the homes of registered participants, no longer than 2 hours and can be for young children, tweens/youth and Adults, or any combination thereof. Arts projects will be identified as either Suitable for Ages 11 and under or Suitable for Ages 12+/Adult.
PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE TO THE PROGRAM – Artist Bios and the cultural significance of their projects, website links and social media addresses will be required. A photo of the Artists and/or of the project will also be required.
A list of required supplies will be listed on your application. This will help The Festival determine if the project can be completed by the participants; the Festival will be providing project supplies for purchase and will be listing the supply needs for the general public as well. Your lists will help us determine a budget for the supplies.
Selected cultural artists, artisan or heritage facilitators will be paid for their sessions. A total fee request with a breakout of Artist/Facilitator Fee and Supply costs will be submitted with your application.
