Art on the Wall Gallery extends heartfelt gratitude to Marilyn Nevills for sharing her exceptional artwork with visitors over the past two months. Marilyn’s pieces captivated the audience, and congratulations are in order for her successful sale of artwork during the exhibition. A big thank you goes out to everyone who visited the gallery and appreciated the art on display.
Art on the Wall Gallery is delighted to welcome David Rose as the new featured artist. David’s impressive background includes studies at the Ontario College of Art and the New School of Art in Toronto, a diploma in fine arts from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, and a Master’s degree in Canadian Art History from Concordia University in Montreal. David’s work primarily focuses on urban scenes, landscapes, and thematic explorations such as the COVID pandemic. His preferred medium is acrylics on canvas or hardboard. As a low-vision artist with age-related macular degeneration, David often utilizes photographs and visual aids to create his stunning pieces. His artwork has been showcased in both solo and group exhibitions across Ontario and Quebec. He is an active member of the St. Catharines Art Association and the Visual Artists of Welland, residing in St. Catharines, Ontario.
David’s exhibition will be available for viewing until the end of August. Visitors can experience his work at The Wall, located in the Rear Foyer of the Welland Civic Center (Welland Public Library entrance), during regular business hours. Art on the Wall Gallery also acknowledges the contributions of Welland city worker Jean Delisle, who meticulously curated the display of artworks for the past 16 years. Jean’s attention to detail ensured that the talents of the artists were beautifully highlighted. Jean recently retired at the end of 2023, and his dedication was celebrated with a plaque ceremony, thank you gifts, and a wonderful lunch. Jean’s hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated.
Anthony De Chellis has taken over from Jean and continues to showcase the artists’ creativity with the same level of care and dedication. Additionally, the gallery welcomes new task force members, Jenny Crumb and Chris Lagesten, whose passion for the arts, innovative ideas, and engagement with social media will help propel Art on the Wall into the future.
