Welland Transit is joining more than 200 cities and connecting riders to bus routes through transit app. By downloading the free and easy to use mobile application, riders have access to real-time bus schedules and other useful rider information at their fingertips. The user-friendly app uses GPS software to display routes in the user’s immediate area and indicates arrival times, allowing riders to better manage their schedules.
The transit app uses a bright coloured interface that is easy to read and navigate. Users have access to a personalized trip planner that assists with selecting the most appropriate routes and has the ability to offer personalized service alerts. The app also connects riders to neighbouring cities with bus route information for Welland Transit, St. Catharines Transit, Niagara Falls Transit, and Niagara Region Transit.
“This is a real game-changer for public transportation,” said Dave Stuart, Welland Transit Manager. “The information users receive is accurate to the minute from GPS technology we’ve installed in our Welland Transit buses. Transit staff are excited by this initiative and hope our riders give it a try.”
