Horse Sense for Kids recognizes the urgent need for quality after school and summer programs to improve the mental health and well-being of at-risk youth in the Niagara Region. Our mission is to enrich the lives of all youth through their interactions with horses by providing an emotionally and physically safe place that is fun, fair, respectful, and compassionate.
Horse Sense for Kids delivers programs to youth living in areas identified as being low-income and/or socially underdeveloped in the Niagara Region, as well as those facing mental health challenges, providing at-risk youth opportunities to engage with horses through handling, feeding, saddling, and riding. The focused programs allow youth to develop feelings of social connectedness, support, belonging, and well-being; strong emotional and social skills; self-compassion; and compassion for others. Horse Sense for Kids believes in strengthening our community one child at a time!
