The Town of Pelham has named its next Deputy Clerk. Sarah Leach will assume the role under acting Town Clerk Holly Willford on May 24, 2021.
Leach has been a member of the Clerk’s Department for the past four years, playing an integral role in the municipal election process (including the 2020 by-election during the COVID-19 pandemic), the committee of adjustment hearings, and records management.
“I am thrilled to have Sarah step into this role and to have her continue to serve the Clerk’s Department in a more involved manner,” said Town Clerk Holly Willford. “Sarah’s experience, knowledge, and dedication will serve her and the corporation well in the years to come. She’s a familiar face to many in the community and a great team player.”
Leach, a graduate from Brock University, has continued her education through Mohawk College and the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO), completing a Records Management and Information Management certificate and several municipally-related courses, respectively.
Leach, like Willford, worked directly under recently-retired Clerk Nancy Bozzato, honing her skills and amassing the knowledge and expertise to fulfill the role successfully.
The Town is pleased to fill this position from within, continuing to focus on a culture of mentorship and training amongst its senior ranks, positioning employees like Leach for the opportunities to advance their careers within the corporation.
