Swinging into a new way of sailing, figuratively and literally!!Last week I had an incredible opportunity to sail on Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady Ship!
Most of you know the “Virgin” name from Virgin Records or Virgin Hotels from Richard Branson and yes now they have 3 cruise ships with a 4th coming out soon!
We were on the Dominican Daze sailing 5 nights, 2 port stops. Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and Bimini Island, Bahamas. A nice relaxing itinerary that was needed!
Let me share what Virgin Voyages has done right, REALLY right:
– embarkation and disembarkation was super fast as you book your time 🛳
– alot of room on decks to chill, lounging spaces, day beds…all with incredible views
– “The Band” which eliminates carrying the usual card around that you need on a lanyard; they have replaced as a WATERPROOF bracelet!– dining is all ala cartes which is great, so no big dining room and no buffets
– and no upcharge on SPECIALTY DINING, it’s all included
– it’s very laid back, no over head announcements, staff was friendly but not intrusive
– colour-themed wake(stream of water at back of ship) every night, so relaxing to be on the back looking at the coloured wake from a day bed under the stars with some bubbly and your ❤️
– everything is done on the app, very sustainable
– ITS ADULTS ONLY
Tips:
– book your embarkation fast or you will be boarding at 3:00pm
– when you step foot into the port get the wifi and start booking exercise classes, these book up super fast
– if you enjoy cocktails coffee, I recommend you and your friend or partner get a bar tab, and when you prebook you usually get some extra! extra! money on the tab for more
