The Town of Pelham’s camp and swim programs are open for waitlist registration, with spots being reserved at this time on a first come, first serve basis; program fees will not be collected at this time, but upon confirmation of program start dates.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent declaration of a State of Emergency by the Province and the Town of Pelham, municipal facilities remain closed until further notice, unable to accommodate programming.
“We don’t know when our programs will be available again for our community, but we want to be ready to welcome our campers and swimmers back as soon as it’s safe to do so,” said director of recreation, culture, and wellness Vickie vanRavenswaay. “We will keep our residents informed of upcoming program changes as information becomes available.”
Registration opens to Pelham residents on April 20, and to those outside the community on May 4. The process to register remains the same as previous years, using the Town’s online portal to reserve their space. The only difference this year is that registrants are automatically placed on a waiting list and not formally enrolling them into the program chosen.
Keeping the original registration dates for summer programs allows parents and families the ability to plan ahead without financial commitment during uncertain times.
The safety of Town staff and the community is of the highest priority and programming will not commence until public health authorities have indicated that it is safe to do and emergency orders lifted.
