During COVID-19, Pelham’s community spirit remains strong. To celebrate and encourage this sense of community, look for #PelhamUNITES in the community and online. Join in with responsible, physically distanced ways to celebrate the Town and its citizens, as we work together to flatten the curve.
Faced with new challenges and an ever-changing health and wellness landscape, citizens of Pelham continue to show community spirit and pride. Whether through the Pelham Support Network, which brings supplies to those in self-isolation or quarantine or have no other way of getting essential supplies, to the random acts of kindness seen regularly, the idea that we’re all in this together is resonating.
Promoting the feeling of hope and connectivity, the Town of Pelham is launching #PelhamUNITES, an engaging way to celebrate the spirit of the Pelham community by bringing people together while adhering to physical distancing guidelines.
This weekend, the Victoria Day long weekend, usually welcomes the return of fireworks in the night sky, lighting up the darkness in pops and bursts of colour and grandeur. Currently, Pelham has a temporary ban on fireworks, resulting in residents to get creative to enjoy a fireworks show.
Kicking off #PelhamUNITES is an augmented virtual reality fireworks display, viewable from the comfort of your own home. Celebrate the holiday by downloading the SNAPd app and display the show form your mobile device.
Beyond the weekend, residents are invited to take to social media, using the hashtag #PelhamUNITES to share photos such as window decorating, sidewalk or driveway chalk messages, deliveries to loved ones, supporting local businesses, or anything else that shows the Pelham community spirit.
Together we can make a difference while continuing to celebrate what makes the community of Pelham strong. Share your photos on social media, use #PelhamUNITES, and tag the Town on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
