The popular Pelham Art Festival, held annually every Mother’s Day Weekend in May, moves online for 2021 to include an impressive number of local artists and artists from all over Ontario displaying and selling their work. After careful consideration, due to the ongoing unpredictability of COVID -19, keeping the safety of our patrons, artists and the community as our priority, we will be holding the traditional Pelham Art Festival in a virtual online format this year.
“When the 2020 Festival was cancelled due to the pandemic, we fully expected to be back for an in-person show in 2021. However, such a large event no longer seems possible, plans are being finalized for Pelham Art Festival Online. Many people are using virtual opportunities in ways we would never have anticipated, we are excited to offer this platform to our artists and community,” explains Festival Chairman Heidi TeBrake
This year we expect over 50 juried artists to present their work Online. We invite you to check out our website at www.pelhamartfestival.com to see the work of artists who are registered with the Pelham Art Festival. Please watch for more exciting updates as we approach May 2021.
In addition, the Pelham Art Festival will be extended from May 1 to May 15, 2021. We invite the community and art lovers to continue to enjoy and purchase original art so that the fundraising efforts for the Pelham Library System, Pelham Arts Scholarships and community art projects can proceed. For 35 years the Pelham Art Festival Show and Sale has been promoting original work by Ontario artists and artisans in the Town of Pelham every Mother’s Day weekend.
We are recognized as one of the premiere Art Festivals in Ontario and host nationally and internationally acclaimed Canadian artists. Typically, over 80 emerging and established Ontario fine art artists and artisans, working in an array of disciplines, come together annually to showcase and sell their work directly to the public. Collectively our visitors spend over $50,000 annually on buying art, contributing to the economic prosperity of our participating artists and the cultural vibrancy of Pelham. Learn more about our mission. Together with our committed and generous community of donors, we celebrate artistic excellence and our artists’ entrepreneurial spirit.
We are a proud community sponsor of Pelham Public Libraries and the arts Festival proceeds benefit the Pelham libraries and provide annual scholarships to graduating Pelham students who are pursuing post secondary studies in fine arts from E.L. Crossley Secondary School, Notre Dame College School and to Pelham students enrolled in the Art and Design Program at Niagara College. The Festival also supports various community arts projects. The Pelham Art Festival show and sale has proudly donated over $448,000 back to the community to date.
