A PXO, such as the one on Canboro Rd in Fenwick, is a specific type of crossing that requires vehicles to stop and allow pedestrians to cross the road. Pedestrians have the right of way at a PXO. All day, every day.
Motorists and Cyclists: Be prepared to stop. Stop behind the yield line and wait until the pedestrian has completely crossed the road before proceeding.
Pedestrians: Indicate your intention to cross. Wait for traffic to stop. Make eye contact to ensure the driver sees you.
Motorists and cyclists may face a fine of $1000 for failure to stop at a PXO. Motorists may also receive four demerit points.
