We are back! The Welland Port Colborne Concert Association is presenting a full season of SIX concerts beginning on October 22nd. The Series is available until August 31 st for the amazing price of $145.00. Students are $30.00 for all six. On September 1 st the standard price of $160.00 will be in effect. Single tickets will also be available on September 1 st at a cost of $40.00 each.
Our program this season showcases the best Canadian talent in a variety of musical genres. October 22nd opens the series with Anne of Green Gables, the Ballet. Canada’s Ballet Jorgen presents a playful, colourful and evocative production that will transport audiences to early 20th century Atlantic Canada, and will include local ballet students. AbbaMania Canada, the top tribute production of Abba in the country comes to town on November 12th for their nostalgic trip back in time when Abba ruled the pop music world. Come and experience your favourite Abba songs. The Canadian Jazz All-Stars and Heather Bambrick on December 3rd, is a first-time collection of artists, bringing together formidable musical forces to create a powerhouse ensemble! They are the best of the best across Canada and around the world. This performance is sure to thrill any and all audiences.
Concerts during the winter months of January and February will be Sunday afternoon matinees beginning at 2:00 pm. All other concerts are on Saturday at 7:30 pm. The Mantini sisters, January 15th, have been captivating audiences with their powerful harmonious voices for over three decades performing some of the most memorable pop-jazz standards with passion, heart and pizzazz! These sisters are favourites of out Niagara audience! Ladom Ensemble, February 5th, doesn’t pretend to represent any one tradition, but rather, expresses an authentic fusion of musical sounds. Passionate, sophisticated and wild, this performance promises to be an interesting experience for all.
And finally, on March 4th, Johannes Linstead is back in Welland. Johannes and his group of exotic Spanish guitars, spicy Latin percussion, grooving bass and soulful accordion leaves audiences begging for more!
