Hey Niagara,

I know this is not how we imagined our new year to start. A new year usually means new beginnings, new goals, and new opportunities. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic, a lot of those goals we have created for ourselves have been postponed. However, this doesn’t mean that we have to be idle for the first part of 2021. Together, we have been given the opportunity to show additional support to all things local; when our community needs it most. Showing a little extra support to your community can make a big impact!

Supporting local businesses is one of the many ways we can show support for our community. Supporting local business means supporting our friends, family, and neighbours. Local businesses are the fabric that binds the community together. They are people who have invested their time and money into our community. They care about the integrity and well-being of their neighborhoods they have interwoven their business and themselves into. Supporting these businesses is supporting the community!

Regardless of the current lockdown, Let’s reach out to our family and friends, order takeout or delivery from local pubs and restaurants, visit the little coffee shops, and buy birthday gifts made by local creators. while maintaining physical distancing.

 It may seem like the pandemic has controlled a significant part of our lives, let’s not allow it to control our goals and aspirations for 2021 ! Let’s make it our goal to support local businesses. To find new opportunities to become community partners, and most importantly, find ways to support each other. If we do that, I’m sure that we can make this a  and healthy year!
