The accolade comes courtesy of Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO), an organization dedicated to recognizing excellence in the festival and events industry across the province. The annual four-day Pelham Summerfest Festiva, has consistently impressed judges with its outstanding contributions to Ontario’s vibrant cultural landscape.

The prestigious award was accepted on behalf of the municipality during FEO’s Annual Conference “IMAGINE,” held in  Niagara Falls last February. Represented by staff from the Recreation, Culture, and Wellness department, along with the chair of the Pelham Summerfest volunteer group, the win underscores the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment of everyone involved in making Pelham Summerfest a resounding success year after year.

But Pelham Summerfest isn’t just about accolades and recognition; it’s about bringing people together to celebrate community, culture, and camaraderie. With over 40,000 attendees expected to join in the festivities, Pelham Summerfest offers the perfect opportunity to indulge in delectable food, refreshing drinks, and live music in the company of friends, old and new.

The roots of Pelham Summerfest trace back to 2011 when it started as a humble single-day event to commemorate the completion of Downtown Streetscaping in Fonthill. Since then, it has blossomed into a four-day extravaganza, drawing residents and visitors alike to the vibrant and walkable downtown core of Fonthill.

The festival kicks off on Thursday with the Opener in Peace Park, featuring a bustling Farmers’ Market, a delightful Supper Market, and toe-tapping music to set the mood. Friday and Saturday see the return of the ever-popular Street Festival, with Pelham Street transforming into a hub of entertainment, outdoor dining, and eclectic vendors. Meanwhile, Saturday is dedicated to the young ones with the exciting and interactive Kids Zone in Peace Park. And let’s not forget about Sunday in the Park, offering more family-friendly activities, live music, and the area’s best small-town car show.
