James Paterson has spent most of his life as an artist and an imagineer creating and implementing the ideas originating deep in his heart and imagination.His creations,known as prayer machines, are a culmination of his professional work and childhood experiences

growing up in the vibrant and visually textured Kensington Market area of Toronto, Canada.These storytelling machines  evolved during a sojourn to Europe and are a wonderfully joyful expression guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone face.

JP’s Pray machines,Play machines,and Circuit Boards For A Civil Societyhave been found at top exhibitions in Canada , United States, Europe and Asia. They can be viewed in galleries across Canada and the United States.

JP’s Prayer Machines are in private collections through out Europe, Asia and North America.Large signature pieces have been commissioned for the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto,Canada,The University Hospital Cleveland Medical Centre, Cleveland Ohio and the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital , Stanford, California
