Our annual Poppy Campaign commenced Friday, October 30 with the pinning of the first Poppy on the Mayor and will continue until Wednesday November 11 inclusive. We are grateful for the businesses that are accepting our poppy boxes and for those unable to accept these boxes this year, we fully understand! As a further precaution, you will not see our Veterans, Cadets or Volunteers canvassing outside local businesses.
We are asking Pelham citizens for their continuing support of our Poppy Campaign which raises funds to sustain a variety of programs & initiatives to assist veterans and their families, supporting cadet and youth programs. Financial donations to Wellspring Niagara, the Niagara Health a Foundation and Juravinski Cancer Centre through the Poppy Fund.
Monetary donations in support of our Campaign are received with gratitude by cheque, cash, credit card or debit card. This year you can also affect payment using e-transfer at br613rcl@cogeco.net Under comments please insert Poppy Fund Donation! The Branch is open 12:30 – 6:30pm Monday – Saturday.
On behalf of all our Veterans and members, we thank you for your continuing support, during a very challenging year. Pelham residents have always responded to community-based initiatives, and we are hoping you will do so again for our Poppy Campaign.
We Will Remember Them!
Remembrance Day Service November 11, 2020
Due to Covid 19 the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 613 Fonthill made a difficult decision to hold only one Remembrance Day Service. This service will take place on November 11, 2020, beginning at approximately 10:45am, Veterans Park on Legion grounds. To all those individuals, businesses, organizations and entities that have supported the services held in Fenwick, Ridgeville and Peace Park, we apologize that these services will not be conducted this year.
Our Remembrance Day Service will look somewhat different from past years as we build the necessary safeguards into the program to protect service participants and other service attendees. Attendance at the service will be limited, to comply with municipal, regional and provincial directives including the wearing of masks and social distancing! Live streaming the Service to allow Our Veterans and Pelham residents to participate virtually will be provided courtesy of Niagara College’s students and staff from Broadcasting -Radio, Television and Film (BRTF) program.
