The Pelham Panthers Basketball Association is seeking applicants for the position of head coach of its Juel and Juel Prep girls basketball programs.
“The ideal candidate is committed to leading a high-performance program within the context of a provincially and nationally recognized basketball program,” Pelham Juel administrator Don Larman said.
The association has a policy of posting for the positions every two years.
“To be successful in this role, you must possess effective communication, proven organizational, leadership and management skills,” he said. “ Experience coaching at all levels as well as playing post-secondary would be an asset. An ideal candidate would be an individual who is a good leader, role model, positive, and encouraging in an educational environment.”
The head coaches of the Niagara Juel and Juel Prep squads will report to the PPBA Niagara Juel administrator and responsibilities and qualities required include: extensive and demonstrated success in high-performance coaching; strong commitment to the academic goals of the student-athlete; promoting and supporting the PPBA mission, which is to provide a positive and supportive environment for youth to learn the fundamental skills of the game and develop athletes on and off the court in a fun, learning environment; conduct skills training at an elite level; possessing strong interpersonal and team-building skills; travel and coaching during weekday evenings and weekends; running team practices using PPBA philosophies; possessing the ability to establish clear communication with players, parents and PPBA Juel administration regarding team events (practices, games, etc.); and, having NCCP Level 2 coaching designation or be working towards it prior to or during the upcoming season.”
