Diana Huson ran in her first municipal election in 2018. On October 18, 2018, she was successfully elected to public office, subsequently becoming Pelham’s first elected female Regional Councillor. She was successfully re-elected in 2022 for a second term. She has held a number of leadership roles during her term in office. She is currently the Chair of the Planning and Economic Development Committee, Chair of the Women's Advisory Committee, past Vice-Chair and current Board Member of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority among other Committee posts. She has also been successfully elected to the Ontario Caucus of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities since 2020. Her focus on regional government continues to focus on supporting small to medium sized businesses, amplifying socio-economic issues and women's voices. She is a passionate advocate of the environment and natural heritage preservation, as well as responsible urban planning and active transportation policies.
